The MINT thread lift involves long biodegradable filaments coated in a stimulatory material (PDO – polydioxanone) inserted under the skin to lift and tighten skin tissue of the face. The MINT thread lift is often compared to a surgical facelift with less downtime. While the MINT thread lift offer lifting of the skin tissue, refreshing facial appearance and redefinition of facial contours, results are more subtle and do not compare to that of a surgical facelift.

We offer an innovative thread lift treatment that combines insertion of 12-16 MINT long threads with PDO mono threads for a more dramatic lift. You will see immediate results with continued improvement over 4-12 weeks.

MINT thread lift is moderately invasive and is performed by our experienced Doctors. The longevity of results is 12-18 months however individual results will vary and are dependent on many factors such as anatomy and lifestyle factors.

Aftercare

The MINT thread lift requires an in person or video consultation with our Doctor prior to the treatment being performed to determine if you are a suitable candidate. We do not charge for initial consultation. A $200 deposit is required to secure an appointment for treatment.

Price includes consultation with Dr Jacob Alexander, placement of up to 16 x MINT (PDO) long threads, and follow up appointments as required with your treating Doctor.

MINT (PDO) thread lift treatment is recommended for men and women with mild to moderate laxity (sagging) to the lower, mid face and neck (approximate age range of clients is 30-60 years). The Doctor will determine if you are the suitable candidate for the MINT thread lift on consultation

MINT thread lift is suitable for those looking to treat:

  • Sagging cheeks and early jowling
  • Drooping skin on the mid and lower face
  • Submental (under the chin) & neck laxity
  • Improves lower and mid face definition (contouring) and symmetry

The MINT PDO thread lift does not offer the same results as surgical face lift and the risk, downtime and post treatment care are also significantly less than surgery. The MINT thread lift is suitable for clients who are not a candidate for surgery or who do not want to undergo facial surgery. It offers a subtle lifting of skin tissue and a refresh of facial contouring and structure.

The procedure begins by the Doctor injecting local anaesthetic into the treatment area to ensure you are comfortable throughout the procedure. You will feel minimum discomfort, only some pulling and pressure while the Doctor positions the threads under the skin. Entry points are then made using a needle attached to the thread (no incisions are required) and the thread is placed under the skin. Several threads are placed on each side of the face and the Doctor then pulls the threads tightly and they’re tied off. The knot from the threads is hidden underneath the skin and the treatment is complete. Whilst the lift is immediate, gradual proliferation of collagen and fibrous tissue takes place over a period of 4-12 weeks, further tightening and and shaping the contours of the face.

The MINT PDO thread lift takes approximately 60-90 minutes to perform depending on how many threads are placed and the areas being treated. You will notice small entry points to allow the threads to be placed within the skin tissue. You will also notice small knots where the threads have been ‘fixed’. The knot is concealed under the skin.

After the procedure you will experience:

  • Minor bruising
  • Moderate the severe swelling (7-14 days)
  • Tenderness
  • Minor dimpling and irregularties to the skin tissue is common where the skin has been lifted (2-4 weeks)
  • You will be required to wear a support garment at night (provided)
  • Refrain from high impact physical activity for 3 weeks (low impact activity such as yoga, swimming etc is permitted)

Unlike other threads available on the market no ‘taping’ of the face is required and you can resume most normal daily activities right away.

The results of the MINT PDO thread lift last up to 12-18 months. Individual variation in longevity of results exists and result may be affected by continual ageing and lifestyle factors such as smoking and weight loss.
