We’re excited to announce the arrival of the newest in laser rejuvenation skin treatments – FraxPro 1550 and FraxPro 1940 by Candela Medical. FraxPro is an intensive fractionated resurfacing skin treatment delivering intensive skin rejuvenation for mild, moderate and advanced signs of ageing.

FraxPro offers intensive skin rejuvenation with a fraction of the downtime of other rejuvenating lasers like C02 laser skin resurfacing. The Frax 1550 delivers heat to the deeper layers of the skin, remodelling skin tissue from the inside out, while keeping the superficial layers of the skin intact. The FraxPro 1940 targets the superficial layers of the skin – targeting rough skin texture, pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles delivering balanced skin tone and refined skin texture. The FraxPro 1940 is particularly efficacious at targeting dark spots and pigmentation on the surface of the skin often delaying the need for more intensive pigmentation lasers.

Our dermal therapists combine the FraxPro 1550 and FraxPro 1940 wavelengths to deliver an intensive treatment for mild to advanced signs of ageing – skin texture and tone, pigmentation (sun spots, age pigment etc), fine lines and deeper wrinkles.

The FraxPro is an intensive skin rejuvenation treatment and requires topical numbing for increased comfort. An additional 60 minutes is required to numb the skin prior to treatment. Numbing cream may be applied in clinic, 60 minutes prior to treatment, or collected from the clinic and applied at home 60 minutes before your arrival at the clinic.

  • Immediately following the FraxPro skin rejuvenation treatment you’ll experience redness, heat and mild swelling in the skin most of which will settle after 24 hours.
  • The skin will feel warm like a mild sunburn for 24-72 hours following treatment
  • 3-14 days you’ll experience darkening of pigmentation (this is a sign the treatment has worked well), crusting, dryness and skin flaking. You can start exfoliating the skin after 5-7days.
  • Closely follow the post care instructions given to by your treating therapist. Allow 7-14 days for the skin to return to normal. We recommend SPF30+ is used to protect the skin from UV damage following all laser treatment

You will see visible results after a single treatment but 1-3 treatments of the FraxPro are recommended to see visible, lasting results. The number of treatments required will depend on your skin concerns. Your treating dermal therapist will advise you of the number of treatments required during your initial skin consultation.

Yes – you will feel a prickly, warm sensation as the FraxPro laser moves over the skin. To ensure an intensive treatment with visible results, the laser is passed over the skin several times and your skin will feel increasingly warm. Cold air is delivered alongside the laser beam and topical numbing cream is applied 30-45 minutes prior to treatment for your increased comfort.

Overall, FraxPro laser skin rejuvenation is more comfortable when compared to many other laser skin rejuvenation treatments.

FraxPro laser skin rejuvenation is used to rejuvenate the face, neck, decolletage and hands. We also offer ‘spot treatments’ for isolated patches of pigmentation.

Laser safety is an important consideration when treating more extensive areas e.g. face + neck + decolletage and may need to be treated in more than one appointment.
