No, varicose veins can not be treated with the Gentle Max Pro laser, only spider veins. Our Therapists are very experienced in laser treatment of spider veins and will quickly identify if your veins are suitable for laser treatment. Consultations are complimentary and you can proceed with laser treatment in the same appointment.

Laser treatment for spider veins with the Gentle Max Pro laser is relatively comfortable and over very fast, with a single area treated in just a few minutes. Any discomfort associated with the treatment is over quickly and cooling is used throughout treatment to minimise discomfort. Following treatment you may feel notice some minor swelling and heat, similar to sunburn in the treated area – this resolves within 24-48 hours.

Spider veins are not a serious medical condition so laser treatment is fast, relatively comfortable and straight forward. The treatment takes a few minutes for a single area and although you will see improvement after your first treatment, a course of 2-3 treatments spaced every 4 weeks apart for facial veins and 10-12 weeks apart for veins treated on the body, is recommended for best results.

The procedure directly targets the spider vein leaving the surrounding skin intact so there is minimal downtime associated with this procedure. You will notice some minor swelling and discomfort in the treated area, similar to a minor sunburn immediately following treatment. We recommend avoiding high intensity exercise and excessively hot environments e.g. saunas, spas, for 3-5 days whilst your skin heals and to prevent the vessel from reappearing.

Any area can be treated but spider veins but most frequently on the face, thighs, calves, ankles or buttocks.

We generally recommend a course or 3 treatments 4-6 week apart. Treatments can purchased singularly or as a package of 3. A saving of 20% off the single treatment price applies when treatments are pre purchased as a package.
