We offer fast and effective laser hair removal for men and women using the powerful Gentle Max Pro Laser by Candela Medical. Suitable for light and darker skin types, treatment is faster and uses cryogen cooling for your comfort.

Treatments are performed by our highly trained and experienced Dermal Therapists who understand laser technology and safety.

The laser emits a wavelength of light which is absorbed by melanin (pigment or colour) in the hair travelling down the hair shaft destroying the hair follicle resulting in permanent hair removal and elimination of ingrown hairs. The darker the hair the easier it is for the laser to work however modern lasers are capable of detecting hair with low levels of melanin e.g. dark blonde hair. Lasers are not yet able to treat white or red hair that contain no brown pigment. Some red hair types may be treated if it contains some brown pigment.

The Gentle Max Pro Laser can treat skin types I-IV and can remove hair from virtually anywhere on the body, including back, stomach, underarms and bikini area. Hair types vary greatly between different people and different areas of the body. For example, finer hair is usually seen on the body compared to the legs. Thicker and courser hair requires more treatments to remove it. Although you will see significant hair reduction after your first treatment, most clients need between 4-8 treatments to see significant hair reduction and will require maintenance treatments every 1-2 years.

Laser hair removal is very well tolerated in the majority of clients. You will feel a light ‘snapping’ feeling against the skin as the laser is fired followed by a cooling sensation. Treatment with the Gentle Max Pro Laser is very fast and we offer cryogen cooling during treatment for increased comfort. A soothing post laser gel from Synerige Skin is also applied to the skin immeidately following treatment. Sensitive areas and areas with darker courser hair are more uncomfortable but treatment is very fast and becomes increasingly comfortable and as the hair gets sparser with each treatment.

You will see a significant reduction in hair growth in most cases after the first treatment but 8-10 treatments are recommended for optimal results. Treatments are spaced 4-6 weeks apart but some areas e.g facial hair, may be treated more frequently for improved results. Maintenance sessions are needed for sporadic hair growth every few years.

We recommend:

  1. Avoid direct sun exposure as much as possible 2-4 weeks leading up to your treatment
  2. Apply sunscreen to the treatment area (if exposed to the sun) for 4 weeks prior to your treatment
  3. Avoid application of fake tans at least 2 weeks prior to your treatment (the lasers look for pigment, application of fake tan can result in burns)
  4. Avoid oral melanin supplements
  5. Do not pluck, wax, bleach or thread the hair leading up to your laser treatment or between treatments (shaving between treatments is recommended)
  6. We recommend you shave 1 day prior to each treatment
  7. Laser hair removal is not recommended in women who are pregnant
